All around us, people talk of the
companies’ lack of competitiveness, of the consumers’ and industrialists’
low spirits, of their turning in to themselves, etc.
Faced to globalization, what about the future of the profession you
have chosen to learn.
Today, Design resists against the
gloomy
climate.
Design is now considered as essential, not
to say indispensable to communication systems, to the companies’
international development and needs of
innovation.
Innovating to offer new
alternatives.
Innovating to change life.
Innovating for the good and
the improvement of everybody’s lives.
For man is at the heart of the
designer’s reflection. Man is the fundamental basis of the
work.
Imagining objects for objects is
useless.
Designers create objects for men.
An armchair to sit on, a
car to move around, a lamp to light up.
But they create for, through
and with the industry.
They create with their cultures, their artistic
sensitivity.
Creating this way is making good
design.
At Strate, we want you to master the
Art of design
Between the sensitivity to forms and the
understanding of the techniques of transformation, between ease in the
techniques of expression and mastery of computer skills, the designer
navigates to the frontiers of the possible.
These frontiers are not only those of his
own knowledge but also those of others. The others are engineers,
technicians, computer scientists, sociologists, semiologists and all the
specialists that constitute a project team.
To succeed in his task, the
designer needs to know the art of design, or how to blend an artistic
specificity with the business environment.
These bases enable the designers of the
third millennium to talk of recycling and sustainable development in a
productivity study, of ethics in a reflection on product strategy, of
responsibility in a launching committee. Today, less than tomorrow, the
creations alone no longer give meaning but the whole creative
action.
Teaching the art of
design is our ambition at
Strate.
