Disappearance in the middle or
long-term of oil forces us to anticipate deep changes in our ways of life, in
particular in the field of transport. Beyond the technical challenge, which
only concerns industrials, there is the challenge of educating everyone and
communicating about what is at stake. Why then don’t we use the car
competition, fantastic ground of innovation, to promote these
changes? WATT?,
Michel Glenisson’s project consists in creating a structure
enabling to test, validate and promote the solutions and the values applicable
to the car of the « after oil » period.
WATT?
is first a race around the world, from New York to Paris, via the Bering
Strait. In this race, the cars have exactly the same chassis, but have to use
different energies and engines. For each phase, all the cars have to take as
much energy, calculated in watts, whatever source it uses. Thus, the race is a
real lab to test and compare alternative solutions. On this principle, Michel
has not only designed the basic car, but he has also thought about all the
necessary logistic environment to support the race and turn it into a mediatic
event.
