Cyclone : emergence of an eco-civilization

Charley IgnaceThere isn’t any living form throughout the universe comparable to this on Earth.
Life is made of elements and conditions that are intermingled by a natural damageable link. Man’s activities are going to break this fragile link and this way they are going to jeopardize their own future. Men have to call their society system into question to plan themselves in an ecological sustainable future. This precarious situation is opening the door onto a new era: ecocivilization.
How can a designer imagine life scenarios corresponding to this new demand ?

    Charley Ignace - Cyclone - Diplôme 2006

For Charley Ignace, the answer needs to focus on at least three vital elements in human society: matter, energy and information. Among them, the second seemed to him most important. Today energy seems to be a free resource: a mere gesture is enough to have it flow. Man must therefore become aware of its true cost.
For Charley, this realization must happen in a symbolic way, in a scene showing the production of energy and the individual responsibility in its creation.
He has therefore imagined a new sport, whose goal would be the creation of electricity. Field, rules, gyroscopic ball, unloading gloves, target : nothing has escaped his approach.
