    Alexandre Gommier

V.O.L.T. (Vieillir On a Le Temps)

Like many industrial fields, the car industry will have to adapt its production to the ageing population.
For three quarters of the seniors between 55 and 75, the car is a means of transport for everyday, both affective and emotional.
The next challenge of the car industry might well be to answer this population’s needs with products that don’t stigmatize them.

Rather than creating « a car for old people », Alexandre has endeavoured to imagine a universal solution, perfectly adapted to his target, but that can also be generalized to any other.
He has therefore decided to focus on the general ergonomics of the dashboard.
In addition to all the driving functions, he has also worked on other functionalities like music, air-conditioning, and GPS.
However, when designing his dashboard – which he called VOLT, abbreviation in French of “we’ve got time to get older” – he did not forget that seniors also seek sensation, evasion and pleasure, which are not necessarily opposed to security.
